An image showing that growth is not a straight line

Story Story, Storyyyy…

Once upon a time, there was a young man named Latte who had a passion for designing user interfaces. He had always dreamed of becoming a successful UI/UX designer, but he struggled to find the time and motivation to design consistently.

One day, Latte came across the idea of designing interactive UI(Interactive designs are basically designs that animate/move) every day for 100 days. He was inspired by the challenge and decided to give it a try. He set a specific goal for himself to design one user interface every day and created a routine of designing for an hour before/after his workday.

Consistency is just taking a step forward daily, no matter how little. Just show up!

At first, Latte found it challenging to stay motivated and disciplined. Some days, he struggled to find inspiration or felt like his designs were not good enough. However, he reminded himself of the importance of consistency and kept going. Sometimes the designs were super complex, other times simple. But it didn’t matter.

My greatest struggles were trying to still do something when i had choking work deadlines, or when i had to take my son to the hospital, or days I had to be at my grandpa’s funeral.

To stay inspired, Latte started following design blogs, watching design tutorials, and studying the work of his favorite designers. He also joined an accountability group(shoutout Solid 10) on WhatsApp and shared his progress on all social media as another method of accountability. The feedback and support from everyone kept him motivated.

There are always excuses for not doing something, very valid ones. But try to push past them, and get stuff done.

As Latte continued to design every day, he noticed a significant improvement in his design skills. He became more confident in his ability to design and started to enjoy the process. He learned to embrace imperfection and to view mistakes as opportunities for growth.

Latte began to experiment with new design techniques and incorporate them into his work. He started to receive positive feedback from his peers, which boosted his confidence and motivation.

By the end of the 100 days, Latte had designed 100 unique user interfaces and had developed a strong portfolio of work. He felt proud of himself for achieving his goal and for developing a habit of creative discipline.

Shout out to Baby D, my ultimate motivation. Nothing motivates you like the bills of an offspring 😭

As the days passed, Latte continued to design consistently and eventually landed a new remote role as a product designer. He credited his success to the challenge of designing UI every day for 100 days and the discipline and consistency it taught him.
